Adama Drame (Ivory Coast) is a modern djeli (Griot), a virtuoso exponent of the djembe. Since 1979 he and his djembe have appeared at numerous festivals all over Europe and North America as well as in his native Africa. His talent is the result of the years he spent learning to play with his father. Today he passes on his art with the same enthousiasm to his pupils from both Africa and Europe. His strength lies in his respect for tradition and his constant questioning in carrying out his research; it leads him to produce some astonishing improvisations. Adama Drame is the artistic leader of the "Ballet Foliba". It is a great pleasure to also welcome the first djembe soloist Moumini Assanedia and choreographer dancer Allama Diwara.Adama Drame released several CD's: Le géant du djembé, 30 ans de djembe, Percussions mandingues vol. 1 and 2, Continents, Tambour djembe, Grands Maîtres de la Percusion
